Opportunities of the Times – A Shining Pearl in OCT's Cultural Tourism Blueprint
The creation of Shenzhen Happy Valley is closely linked to the innovative development strategy of "tourism + real estate" of Shenzhen OCT Group. In the late 1990s, building on the successful operation of Splendid China, China Folk Culture Village, and Window of the World, OCT recognized the market's desire for modern theme parks with stronger participation and experiential elements. Happy Valley was born to meet this need, aiming to create an independent and innovative brand centered on "happy culture," integrating Western theme park management experience with the demands of the Chinese market, and becoming a key step for Chinese theme parks towards modernization and internationalization.

The Path of Evolution—From Phase One Exploration to the Multiverse
The history of Happy Valley is a history of continuous upgrading and surpassing itself.
- Phase 1 Opening (1998): The first phase of the project opened, introducing classic rides such as roller coasters and drop towers. It quickly captured the market with its "dynamic, fashionable, and joyful" image, laying the foundation for its status as a modern theme park.
- Rolling Development (2000s): Adhering to the concept of "Happy Valley that can never be finished", the second phase "Happy Time", the third phase "Magic Castle" and "Maya Water Park" were launched successively. From a single amusement ride, it has expanded into a multi-functional complex including a water park, a family-friendly area and themed streets.
- Technology Empowerment (2010 to present): We have continuously introduced leading cutting-edge amusement equipment from Asia and even the world, such as the "Snow Eagle" catapult roller coaster and the "Golden Waves" rapids ride, and have made extensive use of VR, AR, multimedia and other technologies to create immersive theaters (such as "The Wind Chaser") and interactive experiences, maintaining the brand's leading position and freshness.

A Must-See Wonder: A Symphony of Mechanical Aesthetics and Immersive Fantasy

Nature's Creation – A Vibrant Symphony of Water and Greenery
Although it is a man-made amusement park, Happy Valley has cleverly utilized and shaped its own ecological environment, providing a soothing backdrop for the thrilling experiences.
- Maya Water Park: An independently operated summer-only area themed around the ancient Mayan civilization. It not only features water facilities such as the Python Slide and Rainbow Track, but also creates an overall atmosphere of tropical jungle, mysterious totems, and azure water, making it an excellent place to escape the summer heat in Shenzhen.
- Themed green landscape: From the coconut palms and sandy shadows of "Sunshine Coast" to the coastal charm of "Hurricane Bay" and the snowy forest imagery of "Shangri-La", the landscaping of each area is closely integrated with the theme narrative, creating a changing view with every step and reducing the oppressive feeling of dense equipment.

Humanistic craftsmanship – the creation of scenarios for thematic narratives
The core appeal of Happy Valley lies in its nine carefully divided themed areas, each of which is an independent immersive story space.

The Pinnacle Challenge – A Masterpiece of Mechanical Art
- "Snowy Eagle": Located in the "Shangri-La" area, it is China's first catapult-style roller coaster. Accelerating to 135 km/h in 2 seconds, it climbs, dives, and tumbles rapidly like an eagle, making it the undisputed "King of Screams" in the park.
- "Circular Wing Roller Coaster": On a huge circular track, the cabin rotates wildly on its own axis while revolving around the center, bringing a unique weightless experience that makes you dizzy and has a strong visual impact.
- "Golden Waves": Combining advanced rapids riding techniques such as lifting, sliding, and diving, it culminates in a 26-meter-high giant wave, making it the most thrilling water sport.

Immersive Performances – A Flowing Feast of Joy
- Large-scale live-action film and television performance "Bounty Hunter": Staged in the real scene of "Western Mining Town", it combines gunfights, explosions, special effects and equestrianism, making the audience feel as if they are in a Western blockbuster.
- Panoramic interactive theater "The Wind Chaser": Using high-tech methods such as a 360-degree rotating stage and flying viewing, the audience can experience a fantastic adventure.
- Day and Night Parade: The elaborately dressed performers, exquisite floats, and lively music bring the joyful atmosphere of the entire park to its peak, making it a favorite part for families.

Fun for Parents and Children – A Gentle Corner for Family Fun
- "Magic Castle": Asia's first immersive family-themed area, designed specifically for families. It features a gentle carousel, a mini roller coaster "Jungle Water Battle," as well as numerous interactive rides and cartoon stage shows, allowing even young children to have a great time.
- “UF0” and “Discoverer”: Large-scale attractions that appear thrilling but are actually gently swaying, suitable for visitors seeking a slight challenge but not daring to try top-tier roller coasters, making them an excellent “testing ground for courage”.

Travel and Photography Tips:
Best photo spots: The "Sunshine Coast" area offers dynamic photos with the "Snow Eagle" roller coaster as a backdrop; the "Happy Hour" area at night features a dreamy atmosphere with the carousel and Ferris wheel illuminated by neon lights.
Time-saving tips: After entering the park, head straight for the most popular attractions (such as "Snow Eagle" and "Golden Waves"), or use the park's official app to check real-time queue times and adjust your order accordingly.
Family photography: The colorful "Magic Castle" is a perfect setting for taking children's portraits.

Five Must-Do Things to Unlock the Complete Happy Valley Experience
1. Conquer the "King of Roller Coasters"
- Choose your challenge based on your courage. "Snowy Eagle" pursues ultimate speed, "Circular Wing Roller Coaster" offers multi-dimensional rotation, and "Mine Train" lets you experience the thrill of traversing mountains. Completing one is a badge of honor for the brave.
2. Immerse yourself in an epic live-action show.
- Key: Check the day's performance schedule in advance to allow time for large shows like "Bounty Hunters" or "The Wind Chaser." Arriving early allows you to secure better seats.
- Experience: Forget your role as a spectator, immerse yourself in the story, and feel the awe brought by special effects and audiovisual art.
3. Unleash your inner water spirit at Maya Water Park
- Summer Limited Time Offer: Slip into your swimsuit and scream your way down the high-speed slide, or drift along in the wave pool. The combination of water and sunshine is the perfect formula to relieve the heat and stress.
4. Take your little one into the "Magic Castle"
- For Families Only: This is a kingdom for children. Take them on a fairytale carousel ride, watch a cartoon stage play, and share carefree family time in safe, interactive facilities.
5. Join a carnival parade party
- Peak of the atmosphere: When the music starts and the floats arrive, please let go of your inhibitions and high-five, cheer, and dance with the parade performers. This is a direct manifestation of Happy Valley's spirit of "sharing joy".

Complete Travel Guide: Transportation, Seasons, and Smart Travel

Furong Ancient Town

How to get there: A seamless connection guide
Happy Valley is located in the bustling OCT area of Shenzhen, with a well-developed transportation network.
- Subway (highest recommended): Take Shenzhen Metro Line 1 or Line 2 to "Window of the World" station, exit from Exit "A" and walk for about 5-8 minutes. This is the most convenient way and avoids traffic congestion.
- Public transport: Multiple bus routes can reach the "Happy Valley" station or the "Window of the World" station.
- By car/by taxi: Navigate to "Shenzhen Happy Valley". The park has parking lots, but parking spaces are very limited on weekends and holidays and the fees are high. It is strongly recommended to use public transportation.

Best time to visit
Visiting Happy Valley on a regular weekday, avoiding holidays and summer/winter breaks, is the best way to experience the park.
- Best time to visit: Tuesday to Thursday outside of summer, when there are relatively few tourists, the waiting time for attractions is greatly reduced, and the efficiency of your visit is the highest.
- Peak Season Reminder: Although you can enjoy water parks during the summer (June-August), it is also the student holiday season, and the number of people will reach its peak. The weather is hot, so be prepared for sun protection, heatstroke prevention, and long queues.
- Weather impact: Shenzhen is rainy, and some outdoor activities will be suspended during thunderstorms. Please be sure to check the weather forecast before you go out.

Practical Tips and Smart Travel
- Ticketing and Reservations: It is strongly recommended to purchase tickets online in advance. Some platforms offer discounts and can save you time queuing at the venue. Keep an eye on official channels, as they sometimes offer discounted evening tickets.
- Equipment and Attire: Comfortable athletic shoes are essential, as long walks and queues can be very taxing on your legs. In summer, bring sunscreen, a hat, a raincoat (available for some water activities), and swimwear and a towel for the water park.
- Utilize park tools: Download the official "Shenzhen Happy Valley" App to access electronic maps, real-time queue times, show schedules, and dining information, making it an intelligent assistant for efficient park visits.
- Dining and Consumption: There are various dining options inside the park, but prices are higher than outside. Sealed food and beverages are allowed inside the park.
- Storage and Family-Friendly Facilities: Lockers are available at the park entrance and near some attractions. Strollers are available for rent for families with infants and toddlers.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
